Why BXY Creative Bridge?

"What's Going On?"

Marvin Gaye

The relationships that the Baby Boomers where so passionate about developing and maintaining are seeping through the hands of the Millennials as they turn their focus to computer literacy and preparing to enter the workforce. Evidence of this is everywhere from the tweets of Twitter to the discussions via LinkedIn. Social Media is the relationship builder of today. Traditional marketing media is still effective, but new media must be considered in the mix. Gen-X is in the middle of this hourglass conundrum. We have a large number of Gen-Y coming up on our heels and a large number of Boomers occupying positions for far beyond traditional retirement age.

Gen-X-ers are the Bridge. They can teach Gen-Y-ers the relationship skills that they experienced as their parents (Boomers) modeled these behaviours. They also have the opportunity to learn from Y-ers technology that we can translate to the more senior working population. What a fantastic opportunity we have here to raise employee satisfaction, and retention rates!

Demographic changes on the horizon will radically alter the availability of labor and challenge employers and educators to more efficiently match workforce skills to employer needs:

“Working with governors and educators, business leaders can create a continuous feedback loop to foster the creation of flexible and responsive education and training systems. The only way to close existing workforce gaps and prepare for future needs is to align curriculums and certifications with the needs of business, placing particular emphasis on growing industry sectors and career clusters.”
